The USPS Needs Fairer Pension Rules, Not a Bailout
The Postal Service supports a $1.1 trillion American mailing industry that employs eight million private-sector workers across the paper, printing, advertising, periodical, prescription fulfillment and other industries, and represents over 7% of the nation's GDP.

To preserve and strengthen the Postal Service, bold reforms are needed to consolidate operations and lower labor costs. But these reforms must also include restoring fairness to its retiree obligations.

Unless these payments are fixed, a true taxpayer bailout will become unavoidable.
